"Dapper" Dan Schoening is an artist and illustrator based in Victoria B.C. After earning a diploma in Visual Arts from CAmosun College, he proceeded to the Vancouver Institue of Media Arts. From there he went into in the animation industry, working on shows like Ed, Edd n' Eddy, character design for the movie Catching Kringle and projects for companies like Marvel Comics and DC.

How long have you been working in the animation/ illustration industry?

 I have been steadily working in animation since 2000. I had a bit of a sabbatical in 2002-03 though.

Do you regularly work with other artists, or do you mostly work on your own?

Art is a collaborative effort in my opinion. In both full time and freelance positions, I do work with other artists. Sometimes the collaboration has myself and another artist put in a character and background respectively. Other times the other artist will offer input to make the piece better. It's a wide gamut of possibilities.
